Improve Your Space with Chip Flooring

Chip flooring is a multi-layer coating for existing concrete floors that need a revamp. Chip floors look amazing, but more importantly, they are built to last. Concrete floors are easily cracked due to moisture damage or heavy use. Chip flooring prevents water damage by sealing it, and the surface can stand up to a considerable amount of wear and tear. Chip floors have a showy, seamless finish that provides a cleaner, safer surface to walk on.

Concrete polishing results in a smoother, shinier floor that can hold up against chipping, cracking, and staining. Polished concrete offers several benefits, and it tends to be a bit easier on the budget than many other flooring solutions. It is also friendlier to the environment!

Benefits of Chip Flooring

Aesthetic Value

Chip flooring adds unique beauty to your space. You get to choose the base color, the color(s) of the chips, and the size of the chips. The chip combination you choose can mimic high-end natural stone floors, or it can be more colorful if you desire. The vinyl chips come in 1/16-inch, ⅛-inch, and 1/4-inch sizes, and numerous color combinations. The glossy finish adds brightness and a look of cleanliness, too.

Durability

Chip flooring coat is a more flexible material than traditional concrete, which makes it much more resilient to abrasion and heavy pressure. Chip flooring is scratch resistant, and it can hold several times more PSI than regular concrete. Other floors are easily damaged by heavy objects falling on them, but the flexibility of the chip flooring coat protects against this kind of damage.

Ease of Maintenance

Chip flooring is inexpensive and simple to clean. All you need is a broom, a mop, and some warm water. A mild detergent can be used if necessary. Maintenance depends on the amount of traffic, but generally, you should try to keep the surface clean from dust and dirt that accumulates. You don’t need to worry about spills sinking into the floor and permanently staining it. Chip flooring resists stains, and spills can simply be wiped up.

Improved Safety

Chip flooring has a slip-resistant top coat that minimizes falling risks, and the seamless finish decreases tripping hazards. The texture of the chips and our formulated topcoat provides a grippy surface to keep you and your guests safer.

Our Chip Flooring Process

To guarantee long-lasting results, we begin every project by preparing the surface. We start by diamond grinding the concrete to give it texture. This ensures strong adhesion between the floor coating and the underlying concrete. We also take the time to address any former damage to the concrete, like repairing cracks and ridding the surface of any contaminants.

Once the surface is ready, we’ll apply the primer and base coat using an automatic sprayer. You choose the color of the pigmented layer.

Next, we’ll evenly disperse the chips across the surface of the floor. You choose the size and the color(s) according to the look you desire. We’ll scrape away any excess flakes before putting on the topcoat.

The final step is applying our durable polyaspartic topcoat. This seals the floor, protects it from UV exposure, and allows the floor to shine like new for many years to come.
