Temperature fluctuations and water threaten the condition of uncoated concrete. Concrete is porous, so naturally, it absorbs moisture that could cause cracking or efflorescence. However, a garage floor coating seals the concrete pores and prevents water damage.
Concrete is fragile and brittle, but adding a coating adds considerable durability. Cracking and chipping are a thing of the past! Garage floor coatings are scratch resistant and are several times stronger than untreated concrete. Our formulated topcoat is designed to withstand any heavy load and foot traffic your garage might experience while maintaining its condition.
Oil, battery fluid, paint, and other chemical spills are bound to happen in your garage. Uncoated concrete absorbs these, and they’ll be nearly impossible to clean. However, a coating shields against the absorption, preventing stains and making clean-up easy.
The cleaning process for coated garage floors is quick and simple. Dust and dirt can be brushed out with a broom. For more heavily soiled floors, you can use a microfiber mop, warm water, and a mild detergent. If properly cared for, a garage floor coating lasts for decades without needing recoating or other serious maintenance.
Concrete preparation is the most important step in garage floor coating. We begin each project by diamond grinding the concrete to create strong adhesion between the coating and the concrete. We will also take the time to repair any cracks or chips in the existing concrete.
Next, we apply the primer and base coat. We use an automatic sprayer to achieve an even and thorough coat. You get to select the color of your base coat.
If you choose to have decorative flakes on your garage floor, we then apply decorative vinyl flakes manually or with an automatic sprayer. The color combination of the flakes is customizable. We’ll create even distribution by scraping away any excess flakes.
Lastly, we put on a polyaspartic topcoat for maximum protection and durability. This coat provides UV protection, extra strength, and a beautiful shine.
